Q: Who makes Denote? Back to Top

Denote is a product of the award winning interactive agency, Fastspot.

Q: Why did you create Denote? Back to Top

We created Denote to save us (and our clients) time. Time spent trying to understand "where" on a webpage an issue was. Time spent copying and pasting links from Basecamp into a browser, then having two browser windows open, then reading the feedback, finding the issue, and making the change or fix or update. Time wasted in trying to communicate in places other than within the place where the issue was happening.

Q: Why should I use Denote? Back to Top

Use Denote if you find yourself getting frustrated trying to manage web projects and feedback in organized ways. Use Denote if you want your clients to thank you for making their lives easier. Use Denote to help teams stay organized when working remotely on Website projects.

Q: Do I have to install any software to use Denote? Back to Top

Nope! Denote is designed and programmed to work in your web browser without requiring any additional plug-ins or extensions.

Q: Does Denote work on any website? Back to Top

Yes! Denote is built to be compatible with any site. However, to get the most use out of Denote, make sure you install the code snippet!

Also, alas, there are a few sites out there that might not play nice with Denote (Flash sites with deep links - sorry!).

Q: Does Denote work in any browser? Back to Top

The best browsers to use Denote in are Firefox, Safari and Chrome. We have tried to make sure Internet Explorer is supported, but only newer versions. If you are still using IE 6, we strongly encourage you to upgrade ;)

Q: Why do the Denote toolbar menus behave improperly in Safari 5.0.1? Back to Top

Safari 5.0.1 has issues displaying certain content on pages that contain Flash. A bug report has been filed with Apple and a temporary workaround is being investigated.

Q: How do I control the alerts I get for projects? Back to Top

We've tried to make it easy to unsubscribe from project emails, in case you start to get flooded! You can either use the included link within the email alerts, or click on the envelope icon in the upper right of the toolbar when you are in the project you wish to control alerts for. This icon will allow you to unsubscribe or subscribe to alerts. When you are added as a user, you are automatically subscribed.
